Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SK EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY LLC (“SK Education,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use the SK Education mobile application and the SK Education web platform at platform.skedtec.com (together, the “Service”).

In short. The Service is a private tutoring-center management tool used by SK Education staff, tutors, students, and parents. We collect only what is needed to run tutoring operations. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics tracking in the app. Accounts are created by SK Education staff — the app has no public sign-up.

1. Who this policy covers

The Service is used by four kinds of people:

Accounts are issued by SK Education. There is no public account registration in the app. A separate public inquiry form is available on our website for prospective families who wish to contact us; that form is described in Section 2.

We do not collect precise or coarse geolocation, contacts, calendars, health data, biometric data, browsing history, advertising identifiers, or payment card numbers. We do not access your photo library except at the moment you choose a profile picture, and we do not scan or upload any other images.

3. How we use information

We use personal information only to operate and improve the tutoring service. Specifically, to:

We do not use personal information to build advertising profiles, to train third-party machine learning models, or for any purpose unrelated to delivering tutoring services.

Where the law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on: performance of our enrollment agreement with you; your consent (including verifiable parental consent for children, and consent for push notifications and camera or photo access); our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service; and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Children’s privacy and parental consent

SK Education serves K–12 students, and many of them are under 13. We take the following approach:

If you believe a child’s information has been provided to us without appropriate parental consent, contact us at privacy@skedtec.com and we will delete it promptly.

5. How we share information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only in these circumstances:

Within SK Education

Access is restricted by role and by center. Tutors see the students assigned to them. Center staff see records for their own center. Regional directors see their assigned centers. Administrators may access all records for support and operational purposes. These restrictions are enforced by database-level access rules, not only by the app interface.

With parents and guardians

Parents and guardians receive information about their own child, including schedules, session logs, homework, hour balances, conferences, contracts, and payments.

With service providers

We use a small number of vendors to run the Service. They process information only on our instructions and are bound by contract to protect it.

For legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order; to protect the rights, safety, or property of students, staff, or the public; or to investigate suspected fraud or violations of our Terms of Use.

In a business transfer

If SK Education is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify affected families and require the recipient to honor commitments at least as protective as this policy.

6. Device permissions and notifications

You can grant or revoke any of these permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app under SK Education. Declining camera or photo access does not affect any other part of the app. Declining notifications means you will need to check the app for updates.

7. Advertising, analytics, and tracking

The SK Education app contains no advertising, no advertising SDKs, no third-party analytics SDKs, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. We do not use the iOS Advertising Identifier and we do not request App Tracking Transparency permission, because we do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

On the web platform, we use session and authentication storage (such as cookies or local storage) only to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers. The mobile app stores authentication tokens and preferences on your device so you stay signed in; it does not use tracking cookies.

8. How long we keep information

When a retention period ends we delete the information or irreversibly de-identify it.

9. How we protect information

We use industry-standard safeguards, including: encryption of data in transit (TLS) and at rest; row-level security policies in the database so each account can reach only the records its role permits; role-based permissions in the application; audit logging of sensitive actions; and restriction of administrative access to a small number of authorized personnel. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes and are never visible to staff. Profile photos are the one category served from an unlisted content-delivery address rather than gated by these role checks, as described in Section 4.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by applicable law.

10. Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

California residents. Under the CCPA/CPRA you have the rights listed above. In the preceding twelve months we collected the categories of information described in Section 2 for the purposes described in Section 3, and disclosed them only to the service providers listed in Section 5. We have not sold or shared personal information, and we have not sold or shared the personal information of any consumer under 16 years of age. We use sensitive personal information (such as account credentials and children’s education-related information) only to provide the tutoring Service described in Section 3, and not to infer characteristics about you for unrelated purposes.

How to exercise your rights. Some information you can change yourself in the app under your profile and preferences. For anything else, email privacy@skedtec.com or contact your center director. We will verify your identity — and, for requests about a student, your relationship to that student — before acting, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 30 to 45 days). Requests are free unless they are excessive or repetitive.

11. Account and data deletion

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from inside the app: Settings › Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. It does not require you to contact us, and there is no waiting period. A parent or guardian may delete a student’s account by signing in to it.

Deleting your account immediately removes your login, your name and contact details, your profile photo, and your notification settings. For a student, it also removes the parent or guardian contact details held on that student’s record, and any sessions still scheduled are cancelled. For a teacher, upcoming sessions remain on the schedule so the center can assign a replacement. Center staff are notified either way.

Records we are legally required to keep — principally financial, tax, and signed contract records, together with the record of tutoring sessions already delivered — are retained for the period required by law and then deleted. Your name is removed from the student and teaching records we hold. Signed agreements are executed legal documents and keep the names printed on them, as do the payment records tied to them; we cannot alter these. Enquiry records created before enrolment are covered by the retention periods in Section 9.

Unused tutoring hours are not refunded automatically as part of account deletion. If you have a balance remaining, contact your center at privacy@skedtec.com or speak to center staff before deleting your account.

12. Where information is processed

Our systems and service providers store and process information on servers located in the United States. If you access the Service while outside the United States, your information will still be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. We use contractual protections with our service providers to safeguard information.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service changes or as the law requires. We will post the revised policy here with a new “Last updated” date. If the changes are material — for example, a new category of information or a new purpose for using it — we will give notice in the app or by email before the change takes effect, and where required we will seek renewed consent.
